Position Explanation
This position is responsible for providing product information, system layout recommendations, and quotes to contractors and engineers for HVAC systems, including unitary, mini-split, hydronic, and commercial systems, along with their associated controls. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate strong leadership, sound decision-making, and technical expertise to effectively support customer needs. Key qualifications include a solid understanding of HVAC design and application principles, project management experience, engineering acumen, and foundational business management skills.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Sales Collaboration & Expertise
Build strong working relationships with both inside and outside sales teams.
Serve as a subject matter expert on product sales and application opportunities.
Collaborate with The Granite Group’s sales teams to deliver accurate pricing and application solutions.
Support sales efforts by answering product-related questions and helping drive revenue, margin, and overall sales growth.
Quoting & Project Support
Prepare competitive quotes based on mechanical drawings, specifications, and job site visits.
Assist the sales team with project management and pricing strategies.
Track and maintain records of job quotes, close ratios, and competitive intelligence.
Product & Market Knowledge
Maintain a deep understanding of competitive brands and how they compare to our offerings.
Provide compelling, product-supported solutions that differentiate us in the market.
Conduct on-site product training for The Granite Group personnel, focusing on features, benefits, and applications.
Customer Service & Relationship Management
Deliver high-quality customer service to maximize sales and profitability.
Promote strong customer relationships through integrity, professionalism, and fair dealings.
Establish and maintain a regular service schedule for assigned customers.
Address and resolve customer complaints when appropriate, escalating unresolved issues to the Regional Director or Branch Manager.
Professionalism & Continuous Improvement
Maintain confidentiality regarding both company and customer information.
Keep a neat, professional appearance and vehicle.
Continuously improve selling techniques, product knowledge, and personal development.
Suggest improvements to management across all areas of responsibility.
Adhere to all company safety policies and perform duties in a consistently safe manner.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Technical Expertise
Prior technical experience in the HVAC industry, including familiarity with products and applications.
Working knowledge of HVAC load calculations and application principles.

Education and Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 5+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
You must have a minimum of 2 years of project bidding experience.
Experience working with Plan and Spec work required.
The ability to actively listen, analyze, and provide solutions is necessary.
Must have strong computer skills including experience using Microsoft Office programs.
Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize workload, and work as a team as required.
